James A. Olson, along with Ervin Somogyi, is considered one of the two towering figures in the world of steel-string guitar makers. Olson guitars began gaining recognition in the mid-1980s when guitarist and CCM artist Phil Keaggy introduced them to the public. In 1989, the legendary American singer-songwriter James Taylor purchased three Olson guitars, which further propelled the brand's fame. These guitars became widely admired as some of the best acoustic guitars, especially after being used in many of Taylor's performances. Olson guitars are known for their rich resonance, clear tone, and comfortable playability, making them beloved not only by guitarists but also by collectors and enthusiasts alike.
