Luigi Locatto (1953 - Current)

Italy

Luigi Lucato is a highly skilled luthier and guitarist with a deep understanding of the guitar. He creates traditional guitars based on studies of instruments from the golden age of Spanish guitar making in the 19th and 20th centuries. Lucato's guitars are known for reproducing the intense expressiveness and beautiful tone characteristic of Spanish guitars, while still meeting the power demands required by modern music.

In addition to crafting new instruments, Lucato has also participated in the restoration of historically significant guitars, including those by Francisco Simplicio, Enrique García, and Manuel Ramírez. These restoration projects have had a significant influence on his own work, and through his exploration of the sounds of these classic instruments, he has chosen to produce no more than 10 instruments per year, ensuring a focus on quality and precision.
