Paulino Bernabe (I,II - Current)

Spain

The Madrid-based luthier is considered an elite figure among luthiers. Originally aspiring to be a guitarist, he took lessons with Daniel Fortea, a disciple of Francisco Tárrega. However, he became more fascinated by the craft of guitar-making and began his apprenticeship. As his experience and skills grew, he earned the position of chief luthier at the Ramírez workshop, during the period when the renowned guitarist Andrés Segovia started using Ramírez guitars.

In 1969, at the age of 37, Bernabé left the Ramírez workshop and established his own workshop in Madrid, marking the beginning of his independent career. In the early 1980s, Bernabé brought his son, who shared his name, into the workshop at a young age to train him as his apprentice. Together, they dedicated years to crafting guitars with unmatched precision and excellence, striving to create instruments of the highest quality.
